“DANCE IS A GREAT WAY TO DEMONSTRATE THE WONDERS THAT MIND AND BODY UNITED TO MUSIC ARE CAPABLE OF PERFORMING.”
“DANCE IS A GREAT WAY TO SHOW THE WONDERS OF MIND AND BODY UNITED.”THEY ARE ABLE TO PERFORM MUSIC.”
We at Rasta Pé no Mar teach the style that originated from forró festivals, and which also began in the world-renowned forró events in Itaúnas/ES, introducing mainly intrinsic movements, Forró Roots.
Roots has the same meaning as the term root, which translates as root (plant, hair, tooth, among others). As a masculine noun, roots can be used as a translation for the words source, essence, base or origin. When used figuratively, roots - like root - are associated with the base or origin of things, an example being the familial root and musical root.
-
Originating from festivals that take place in places and last more than 2 days and also characterized by movements of the genres: opening, swings, walks, locks, spinning tops, spins, flourishing legs, xaxados, saccades, push in pull and drags.
Forró is danced to the sound of various typically northeastern Brazilian musical genres, in addition to the forró musical genre, among which the following stand out: the xote, the baião, the drag-pé, the xaxado and coco, and sometimes the maracatu.
ABOUT ROOTS
FORRÓ + SOLIDARITY
The Forró + Solidário project has the focus and objective of promoting the culture of forró pé de serra by producing new forrozeiros, happiness, promoting well-being, harmony in the community, and collecting food to direct to institutions. Through the introduction to roots classes, we will use social networks, brochures, banners, classes, videos, music, articles and games in the form of competitions to reach our goal.
